Shotgunned - UK-Wide Tour Kicks Off in Exeter This Weekend

Shotgunned, a brand new play written and directed by Matt Anderson, starts its 37 night UK-wide tour this weekend at Barnfield Theatre in Exeter.

Shotgunned tells the story of Dylan and Roz, a couple who unexpectedly fall out of love. It is a poignant and humorous reflection on the messy and the beautiful in relationships and how we can come up against a dead end, no matter how much we care for each other. It also speaks about our dreams and the courage and resilience it takes to follow them. In equal parts hilarious and heart-breaking, Shotgunned is a relatable and intimate piece of theatre about the people we lose that shape who we become.

The show is brought to the stage by Kangaroo Court - a creative studio specialising in theatre and film production. Off the back of a successful three-night run in Falmouth and Truro last year, the team at Kangaroo Court have been busy building a self-funded UK-wide tour of the show. Now, as things stand, Shotgunned has 37 shows performing at theatres in Cornwall, Exeter, Bath, London, Brighton, and Edinburgh.

Gates open at 15.30 ahead of the first race at 17.30. The final race of the day will take place at 20.00.

Tickets are available online now priced at £19 for the Paddock Enclosure and £12 for the Course Enclosure.

Tickets are available online until 17.00 on Monday 21 August and will also be available at the gates on the day.

Children aged 16 and under, plus students with valid photographic ID go FREE. Be sure to pay a visit to our new children’s play area in the Family Enclosure which is now open for every fixture this year.

Artist Rosalie Schweiker will work with Spacex to imagine a future art institution. Users of Spacex, from artists and community groups to the wider public, will also be invited to share their aspirations and ideas for this new organisation.

During the project the artist will live at Spacex, bringing to life her manifesto Some ideas for a new art institution. This will include re-thinking the way the building is used including bring-a-film night.

Bring a film you've always wanted to see or a film you've seen a million times and anything in between. We'll vote which film to watch on the big screen. Simply bring your film on a DVD. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
