We’d like to invite you all to join us for Brunch at Sandy Park as we reveal next Season’s Gallagher Premiership Fixtures List, looking ahead to the games that stand between the Exeter Chiefs and a return to the Premiership Final!

At this exclusive event sponsored by Investec we’re going to be joined by Director of Rugby, Rob Baxter, who will be offering a preview of the new season, as well as members of the Chiefs First Team Squad, who will be undertaking a Q&A to give you an insight into the preparations ahead of the 22/23 campaign.

First team match report:

Man of the Match: Hope Kent (GK)

The Exe Ladies 1st XI opened their 2019/20 season by travelling away to Team Bath Buccannears, whom they last played over 3 years ago. Both sides were keen to make an impression in the newly restructured Investec Ladies West Conference League, and Team Bath Buccs won their league to achieve promotion at the end of last season.

Both teams opened strongly, with attacking passages leading to short corners at both ends, but really solid defending from both sides ensured the first and second quarters ended 0-0. A high press from Exe in the second half ensured that there was always pressure on the Bath Buccs ball carrier, and the game became more frantic as both teams searched for an opening goal, with no avail. Fantastic attacking opportunities were created by Becky Fagg and Jamie Bulbring. Ruby Jarman executed a brilliant drag-flick from a corner that went just wide of the post. Excellent distribution from the defense under pressure meant that the opportunities kept coming, however Exe were unable to score. An end-to-end final quarter with several saves in the last few minutes from both goalkeepers was exhilarating, and the final whistle went leaving the game at 0-0.

Exe look forward to their game at home vs Cheltenham next week.

Exe have a focus on supporting club members with their mental health this year, and wish Emma Hulme and her husband Neil the best of luck as they run a half marathon in October to raise money for MIND the mental health charity.

Over 300 guests attend Exeter Chiefs' Fixtures Brunch

Exeter Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter says he and his team are relishing the prospect of defending their Aviva Premiership title this season.

Baxter outlined his side's vision for the new 2017/18 campaign at the first-ever Fixtures Brunch held at the club's Sandy Park home.

In welcoming over 300 guests to Exeter's Premier Conferencing & Banqueting Centre, Baxter - together with first-team stars Mitch Lees, Alec Hepburn, Phil Dollman and Dave Ewers - reflected not only on the triumph of last season, but also spelt out the club's desire to push on even further this term.

The brunch attendees not only got to find out the new Aviva Premiership fixtures, but they were able to listen in on special Q&A sessions with Baxter and his players, before tucking into a hearty, full English breakfast.

Also on show was the Aviva Premiership Trophy the Chiefs lifted at Twickenham in May when they defeated rivals Wasps after extra-time.

Looking ahead to the new season, which starts on Friday, September 1 with an away trip to Gloucester, Baxter said: "In a lot of ways, Gloucester is a really good starting fixture for us because the players will look at it and know it is a big challenge and we will know we have to start very well.

“Gloucester away last season was our last fixture in the scheduled season and I thought we had to play very well that day to get the points we did out of thet game to guarantee ourselves that home semi-final. We have got to hope we can go up there, perform at a high level again, and maybe continue where we left off on our current league form.

“We know it will be a fantastic challenge very early in the season. The weather should be good, the pitch will be in excellent condition, and everyone is aware the Kingsholm crowd will be very vocal, so it’s a good test for us. Gloucester, we know, will be buoyed by some new signings and a new head coach, so it is a very interesting start point for us.”

With the Cherry & Whites first up, the Chiefs will then entertain newly-promoted London Irish, before clashes with Worcester Warriors (away) and old rivals Wasps a week later. The month of September concludes with a third away day at Leicester Tigers.

Baxter, though, is relishing what lies ahead, adding: “It doesn’t matter who won the Aviva Premiership last season, the league table right now says zero points and we have got to start collecting them again.

“That first group of fixtures of going away at Gloucester, having London Irish come to us and they will have a point to prove, and then going away to Worcester where last season where we had a really tough fixture and a hell of a lot of points were scored, and then having the regular enemy in Wasps back here in our fourth game. If you’re a supporter, it is an absolutely fantastic block of games within the space of a month.”

Anglo-Welsh Cup fixtures confirmed

Premiership Rugby have today confirmed the kick-off dates and times for the final two pool games in this season’s Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Exeter Chiefs will play host to Wasps in Round 3 on Saturday, January 28 (3pm) before travelling to Bristol Rugby in Round 4 on Sunday, February 5 (3pm).

The Chiefs currently sit second in Pool 2 having lost 29-15 at Harlequins in their opening fixture, before thumping Cardiff Blues 62-25at Sandy Park in their latest outing.

Neither will be screened by BT Sport, who have opted to show the following fixtures over the final two rounds.

Here's the new squad ready to face the new season, on a new pitch.

Rob Baxter's new-look team open their campaign at newly-promoted London Welsh on Sunday before taking on the Leicester Tigers at home the following Saturday.

After a multi-million pound revamp, Sandy Park promises to be even bigger and better for those heading to the region’s premier sporting club this season.

And from as little as £330 for adults; £200 for students and £165 for children under-16, you can guarantee your place in certain sections of the South West Communications Stand – at a reduction of almost 25% on this season’s prices – for every minute of Premiership, European, LV= Cup and A League action.

Exeter Rugby Club chief executive Tony Rowe OBE said: “As I’ve said in the past, these are very exciting times for Exeter Rugby Club, both on and off the field.

“As a club we feel there is no better time to be part of the Chiefs’ long-term vision and we hope that our loyal members, gold card and season ticket holders continue to savour what has been an amazing journey so far since our elevation into the Premiership.

“Of course there are slight increases to some Season Ticket and Gate Prices around the stadium, but after careful deliberation we have tried to keep those rises to a minimum, thus ensuring that Chiefs’ fans can continue to watch international rugby stars on a regular basis here in the Westcountry.”
